Gary Lowe Obituary ;Man Passed Away in His Sleep, Family And Friends Mourns: Early this morning, Gary Lee Lowe departed from this life in peace while sleeping. For the past two months, he had been either in the hospital or a nursing home. He had hepatic cirrhosis.
Gary’s birthdate is February 26, 1953. 1971 saw him graduate from West Vigo High School. He was a physical therapist who was a veteran of the United States Army. He had left McCallister Brothers in retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank “Gene” Lowe and Betty Brewster Lowe, one sister Terri Lynn Sears (Daryl) and one brother Frank W. Lowe. He is survived by one awesome older brother Donald E. Lowe (Barb), one sister Penny Rose Lowe, and one younger brother James Michael Lowe (Becky). Gary was never married but had many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. He was especially fond of his nephew Frank Shattuck and his wife Sarai and their kids Greyson and Bella.
Gary liked reading, movies (especially horror) and his privacy. He swore me to secrecy when he was taken to the hospital. I only let it slip once. If you have hurt feelings that you didn’t know and didn’t get to see him, well, that was what he wanted. We tried to honor his wishes.
He’ll be cremated with no service. Again his choice. We will later this summer likely have a family memorial and celebration of life for Gary. Or, as we call it, a party!
