The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office said on Tuesday that they have made an arrest in connection with the homicide that occurred on February 12 of Jonathan D. Robertson. Gretna’s Falcon Ridge Drive is the location of an ongoing investigation into a shooting that was reported to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office. Robertson, who was 28 years old, passed away as a result of his injuries not long after he was transferred to the hospital. Corderro Rucker, 33, a resident of Lynchburg, was taken into custody in the city of Lynchburg by investigators from both the deputies’ office and the United States Marshal’s Service on the following charges, according to the deputies.
First-Degree Murder Under Virginia Code 18.2-32; Possession or Transportation of Firearms by a Convicted Felons Under Virginia Code 18.2-308.2;
Use or exhibition of a firearm while committing a felony is a violation of Virginia Code 18.2-53.1.
The reckless handling of a firearm is a violation of Section 18.2-56.1 of the Virginia Code.Rucker is being detained on no bond, authorities said.
According to the deputies, Rucker is also free on bond in the City of Lynchburg for crimes involving guns. The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend its gratitude to the United States Marshal’s Service, the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office in Pittsylvania County, and the Investigators working inside this office. Investigation into this matter is not yet complete.
