Fred Crosby Death – Fred James Crosby, II, of Saginaw, Michigan, Beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and dear friend passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Thursday, April 13, 2023. He was 57 years old at the time of his death. The news of his death was shared on social media by his beloved Brandon. “Rest easy Dad, you deserve it. You put up a hell of a fight. Thank you for making me the person I am today. I love you and will miss you.” The announcement read in part.

Who was Fred Crosby?

Fred James Crosby II was born on November 8, 1965, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Fred James and Joyce Marie (Schultz) Crosby. He went to Hemlock High School and graduated in 1984. There, he was on the football and wrestling teams. After he graduated, Fred enrolled in the automotive school at Ferris State University. On April 29, 1989, Fred and Renee Marie got married. The couple had two children, Brandon Joseph Crosby and Justin Lee Crosby, and two grandkids, Jackson and Graham Crosby. He was the brother of Troy Lee Crosby, Cindy Schonfeld, and Melissa Jo Wegener, who died before him.

He worked at Hemlock Semiconductor from January 2, 1986, until January 15, 2019, when he retired after 34 years. Being a loving and loyal husband, father, and grandfather was his life’s work, and he loved it more than anything else in the world. Fred went to Bethlehem Lutheran Church & School for a long time and was on the school board there. He now goes to Hopevale Church.

Fred gave back to his community by coaching his sons in the little league, becoming vice president and umpire-in-chief for the North Saginaw Township Little League (NSTLL), and finally becoming the league’s past president. Fred loved being outside and liked to hunt, fish, and ride snowmobiles. Fred will always be remembered for how hard he worked, how great of a husband he was, and how he was the best father and grandfather in the whole world. He will also be remembered for how fun and exciting he was and how he lived an amazing life full of beautiful memories and stories.

Fred Crosby’s obituary and funeral arrangements

A Celebration of Fred’s life will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road. Rafael Olgine will officiate. Honoring Fred’s wishes, cremation will follow the service. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the North Saginaw Township Little League (NSTLL) in honor of Fred Crosby.
