After 32 years of dedicated and loyal service, Chief Roy “Frankie” Hooper retired from the Gainesville Police Department in 2009.
According to Gainesville Police Department, Chief Hooper established the groundwork for many of the initiatives, projects, and innovations that have helped this agency become the professional organization it is today. Chief Hooper was a wonderful friend and mentor to those who knew him. Chief Hooper is the epitome and embodiment of a legacy, with a long list of accomplishments. He left his mark on the future and left a legacy for future generations.
