Frank Bramble Death – Calvert Hall College Alumnus Frank Bramble has died. He passed away on Saturday 23rd September 2023 surrounded by his beloved family who will forever miss him. He was announced dead through a publication made by Calvert Hall Collège that reads “It is with great sorrow that Calvert Hall shares the news regarding the passing on Saturday, September 23, 2023, of former Board of Trustees Chairman and Interim President, Frank P. Bramble, Sr. ’66”. The cause of his death has not been revealed.

Frank, a proud 1966 graduate of Calvert Hall, boasted an impressive career as a seasoned financial services executive, offering extensive expertise with a global perspective. Throughout his professional journey, he achieved remarkable milestones, including holding esteemed positions such as Chairman, President, and CEO at prominent financial institutions like Allfirst Financial, Inc., MNC Financial, Inc., Maryland National Bank, American Security Bank, and Virginia Federal Savings Bank.

His leadership prowess extended further when he assumed the role of Executive Vice Chairman and Advisor to the Executive Committee of MBNA Corporation during its merger with Bank of America. Even after the merger in 2006, Frank continued to contribute to the financial sector by maintaining his presence on the Bank of America Board of Directors.

Frank Bramble Career

Beyond his financial career, Frank’s dedication to education and community was evident through his role as an emeritus member of the Board of Visitors at Towson University. On July 1, 2013, he received the honor of being appointed Interim President by Br. Dennis Malloy, FSC, Provincial for The Brothers of the Christian Schools District of Eastern North America. He served this interim presidency for a year before passing the torch to Brother John Kane, FSC, Ed.D.

Frank’s commitment to education persisted as he took on the role of Chairman of the Board of Trustees from July 2014 to June 2016. His ties to Calvert Hall remained strong, as he served as a member of the CHC Board of Trustees during two separate terms, from 1993-1995 and 2000-2006. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Frank was inducted into the Calvert Hall Alumni Hall of Fame in 1993, cementing his legacy as a distinguished alumnus.
