Francis J. Cahill A Beloved Resident of West Boylston MA: After a short illness, Francis J. Cahill, 78, a devoted husband, father, and “Papa,” passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2024, in the company of his loving family. April 3, 1946, saw the birth of William and Marcelle (Costa) Cahill in Worcester. Francis attended Worcester Junior College and Boys Trade before proudly serving his country as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army. He founded Sentinel Security after nearly thirty years with ADT Security.
Francis, the security industry will never be the same. He was obviously enthusiastic and committed for almost 50 years during his profession. Francis will be remembered for his lively manner, genuine kindness, and infectious laugh. He had a talent for making friends wherever he went and a great love of music, which he carried about all the time and especially enjoyed playing his harmonica. When not playing golf, he was an active member of Wachusett Country Club.
Sharon L. (Jernstrom) Cahill, his loving wife and best friend; daughters Elizabeth M. O’Brien and Michelle L. Doucimo; son Scott F. Cahill and wife, Cindy; grandchildren Kristina E. Harper and husband Jarrod, Kelsea S. O’Brien, Brianna E. Sifferlen and husband Ryan, Morgan V. Doucimo and Hunter A. Doucimo; great-grandchildren Audriana M. Cirilo, Carter D. Harper, and Dillon A. Harper; brother Richard Cahill and wife Brenda; sister-in-law Sandra Allen; and his loyal dog Rusty are among those who survive and miss him.
His parents, William and Marcelle Cahill, as well as his brothers James, Robert, and William Cahill, died before Francis. Francis will be remembered with a life celebration on Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Fay Brothers Life Celebration Home, 1 West Boylston Street, West Boylston. Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester Street, West Boylston, will hold a funeral mass on Friday, May 10 at 11:00 a.m. A private family burial is planned.
Francis had a successful life that touched many hearts both professionally and personally. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
