Flora was known as a lifelong community advocate. She studied at Wayne State College. Flora completed her secondary education at Went to Central High School, Sioux City, Iowa. She was known as a giver. She contributed in many ways to various organizations, Sioux City Community Schools not excluded from the list. Tis was possible through her work and tireless effort on the school board and committees and even behind-the-scenes.
She was a mentor to many students and staff. In the District, she encouraged many to use their talents and voices to create positive change. “Last year, Flora was the first community leader to be honored with a special art project by North High School students. The gesture brought Flora to tears. Today, our heartfelt condolences are with Flora’s family, friends, and the hundreds of lives she touched during her remarkable life.”
