Felix Rivera Death – Detectives from the Third Squad of the Suffolk County Police Department are looking into a crash involving a motor vehicle that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist in Bay Shore. At around 8:20 p.m., Felix Rivera was driving a 2005 Honda motorbike eastbound on Union Boulevard when the motorcycle collided with a 2004 Jeep SUV that was turning in front of the rider from westbound Union Boulevard onto southbound Penataquit Avenue. The SUV was turning from westbound Union Boulevard onto southbound Penataquit Avenue from westbound Union Boulevard.
Rivera, 40, from Bay Shore was taken to South Shore University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead after being treated for his injuries. Francis Cannizzaro, 65, a resident of Bay Shore, was driving the Jeep and was not hurt in the collision. Both vehicles were taken into impound for inspections to ensure their safety, and the inquiry is still ongoing.
