Fear grips Stockton as man was fatally shot for the the 6th time

(KTXL) – STOCKTON, Calif. — On Saturday night, a man was fatally shot in Stockton, adding to the city’s recent spike in gun crime. Officers responded to reports of a shooting at California Street and Worth Street about 8:35 p.m., according to Stockton police. They discovered a 22-year-old male who had been shot when they arrived. The man was pronounced dead by medics.

Homicide detectives are looking into the case, but no other information about the victim or the shooter has been provided. The victim’s family and friends gathered at the crime scene again on Sunday, crying and praying for their loved ones.

The killing is the sixth homicide in the city since February 11 and the tenth in 2022. The resident of Stockton are getting concerned about their own safety, and are calling on law enforcement officials to look into the matter.

Officers are seriously investigating the case, and are seeking help from the public. For information leading to an arrest, Stockton Crime Stoppers will award a cash reward of up to $10,000.
