Friends battled for an hour to save tragic friend at the Falls of Falloch – An alarm was raised on on Saturday, July 9 at around 5.20 p.m. near Crianlarich in Stirlingshire, emergency personnel sped to the well-known Scots beauty spot. The 24-year-old victim was not identified. It was stated by a witness how concerned friends of a man that died at the Falls of Falloch fought desperately to save him for almost an hour.
The friends put a call through to the authorities to help save their friend. Despite the presence of ambulance personnel, the Police Scotland Dive and Marine Unit was able to collect the body of a 24-year-old male from the water. An observer reported that for 40 minutes, the young man’s pals searched the waterfall after jumping into the water to try to save him. As others banded together to try to save the injured swimmer, others at the scene called emergency services for help.
It was stated that the young man lost his balance as he was walking around the area and he fell backward at the Falls of Falloch. An eyewitness who explained how the friend of the 24-year-old man had struggle while swimming through the water in search for their friend. The eye witness also spoke about seeing the young man at the moment he tripped and fell into the water.
the eye witness said “I, along with two friends and partner, witnessed the young man fall from Falloch falls on Saturday. He lost his footing and slipped backwards as we were looking at the men from where we were standing.” The authorities arrived at the scene after about an hour of the search of the young man, they searched everywhere to get him and finally the Police Scotland Dive and Marine Unit found him dead in the water through the help of the emergency team of the Police Scotland Dive and Marine Unit.
The witness also extended condolences to the family of the deceased saying that “I want to send my condolences to family and friends as I can’t imagine what you’re going through, they looked like a lovely bunch of lads enjoying a summer day. This was the most tragic incident.”
