Faith Donsbach Death – Family and friends are mourning the untimely death of their 16-year-old daughter who passed away in a UTV accident Sunday. Faith Olivia Donsbach, of Maquon, Illinois died Sunday, April 9, 2023, in rural Knox County as a result of a deadly UTV accident, the family announced. Faith Donsbach was a Junior student at the Spoon River Valley High School located in the area of London Mills, Illinois. “Faith Olivia Donsbach, 16, of Maquon, Illinois died Sunday, April 9, 2023, in rural Knox County as a result of a UTV accident. Faith was born July 28, 2006, in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Tonya Sue (Braten) and James Paul Donsbach,” an obituary site announced.
According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, a kid was killed and another was injured after their side-by-side collided with a deer in rural Knox County on Sunday night. At around 8 p.m., the sheriff’s office responded to the 600 block of Knox Road 1000 North near Gilson. The two young occupants, whose ages have not been disclosed, were checking cattle when a deer darted in front of their UTV. They collided with a deer and went off the road. One of the children was confirmed dead at the scene, while the other was flown to a neighboring hospital by Life Flight. As of Monday afternoon, the sheriff’s office was still investigating the crash.

Faith Donsbach was born on July 28, 2006, in Peoria, Illinois, to Tonya Sue (Braten) and James Paul Donsbach. Faith was a junior at Spoon River Valley High School, where she was on the student council, class secretary, and member of the Drama Club. Faith was a softball player for the Lady Xtreme Softball team. She was Daddy’s little child and Mama’s world. Faith was full of life and could find humor in any situation. She was obstinate and opinionated, yet she was always willing to assist a buddy in need. Her contagious smile will live on in perpetuity.
Faith had recently started working in dietary at the Knox County Nursing Home and was having a great time there. Faith’s parents, Jim and Tonya Donsbach of Maquon, and two brothers, Mark (Hannah) Donsbach of Avon, Illinois, and Paul (Alyssa) Donsbach of Abingdon, Illinois, survive her. She is also survived by grandparents Sharon Braton and Larry Burnett of Maquon, as well as the late Jack and Claire Braten of Maquon, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She also leaves behind treasured pals Marlee and Noah Hedges, as well as best friends Chesney “Chuck” Secrist, CaylinNelson, Corbin Phillips, and her loyal dog, Jacko.
Faith was predeceased by her grandfather, Jack Braten, as well as her grandparents, James and Mary Alice Donsbach, and one brother, Steven Michael Donsbach. Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg, Illinois.
