Eric Oetjen Death – On Tuesday 10th January 2023, Long time CYA Little League Coach Eric Oetjen of Warrenton, Virginia passed away sadly. He died leaving behind his his wife Stephanie and four children. Chantilly Youth Association – CYA Baseball made the news of Eric Oetjen’s death known on Saturday 14th January. Circumstances surrounding the cause of his death has nor been released. He was a “CYA Little League parent, coach and volunteer”.
Who was Eric Oetjen?
Eric served as a manager and assistant coach for a number of our spring tournament teams in addition to being an assistant coach for both the house and travel programs that were offered by the CYA league. In addition to that, he helped coach the squads as an assistant coach. Baseball played a vital role in not just his life but also the lives of his children and grandchildren, and he derived a tremendous deal of fulfillment from seeing our players accomplish what they set out to do.
Eric impacted the lives of a significant number of individuals that are a part of our baseball community and left a lasting mark on their lives. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing him will grieve his passing. He possessed an upbeat demeanor that was infectious, and he instilled in each and every one of his players the notion that they should never give up and should always keep pushing themselves to become better.

On the eleventh of January, 2023, a man of Warrenton, Virginia named Dave Hunter created a GoFundMe account in the name of Eric Oetjen in order to help to the fundraising effort for the burial and memorial ceremony that would be performed for him. He was a good husband and father who made sure that his family came first in everything that he did. He always placed his family before himself. It was a pleasure to converse with and spend time with him.
