Eric Mueller Death – The Ontario Provincial Police department announced the death of one of their officers who passed away after Bourget Ontario shooting. The victim of the shooting was identified as Ontario Provincial Police Sergeant Eric Mueller. Two additional officers have been shot and are currently being treated at a hospital. It was stated that someone had heard a gunshot and reached out to the officials immediately for help. According to OPP, just after 2 o’clock in the morning, Mueller and two other officers were dispatched to a disturbance that was taking place in a residence located on Laval Street in Bourget. When the cops arrived, all three were shot by someone at the home, OPP said. They were rushed to hospital in Ottawa, where one of them, identified as Ontario Provincial Police Sergeant Eric Mueller died. The other two are making progress in their recovery, but their current situations were not made public.
According to the OPP, one person has been detained, and there is currently no threat to the general populace. Assistance is being provided by members of the Ottawa Police Service. The city center of Ottawa is approximately 50 kilometers to the east of Bourget.
Update: Following the recent shooting in Bourget, the police oversight organization in Ontario has said that it will investigate allegations that an officer used force severe enough to cause death. During a shooting, an officer of the Ontario Provincial Police named Eric Mueller was shot and died, and two other officers were injured. The Special Investigations Unit has stated that it will investigate the shooting that took place.
The defendant, who is 39 years old, is being charged with one count of first-degree murder in addition to two charges of attempted murder. The OPP forensic team allegedly advised the SIU that one of the surviving cops may have fired his weapon at some point during the event. This information was provided to the SIU by the OPP.
