Death: Warwick man accused of killing a woman in California – According to California authorities, a Rhode Island man accused of killing a lady in Northern California was apprehended a week later while attempting to steal a boat in Santa Cruz, about 350 miles south of where the woman was killed.
According to providencejournal.com, Austin Michael Medeiros, 27, of Warwick, had been on the run since April 3, when he allegedly fled police in the homicide victim’s automobile and went into a redwood forest in neighboring Arcata.
Emily Rose May Lobba, 28, was found dead on April 3 in Kneeland, an unincorporated village some 280 miles north of San Francisco. Medeiros is accused of her killing.
According to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to Lobba’s apartment at 10:59 a.m. that morning in connection with a suspicious death investigation. Lobba’s carer discovered her dead.
