A 29-year-old High Point woman died in an automobile collision on Wednesday night, according to police. Elizabeth Nicole Brann died in the crash on Deep River Road near Gordon Road just before 8:30 p.m., according to a news release from High Point police. Brann was riding shotgun in a car driven by a 31-year-old Asheboro woman.
According to greensboro.com, Officers and paramedics arriving on the scene discovered a 2010 Dodge Avenger parked on the side of the road. The vehicle was traveling east on Gordon Road when he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Gordon and Deep River roads, according to the investigation.
The vehicle then veered off the road, collided with a little slope, and took to the air. According to the press release, the car came to a halt after colliding with a small group of trees and a large wooden utility pole. According to authorities, the motorist was taken to the hospital with significant injuries.
