James Harrison Death – A man has died after he shot and killed a person and injured two others in Johnston, Rhode Island Wednesday morning. Law enforcement agencies were called to the scene this morning after three individuals were located hurt in the area of Ligian Court. The incident happened at approximately 7 a.m., on May 24, 2023. Multiple officers responded to the scene where the suspect identified as James Harrison had fled after shooting an elderly woman, a female, and a child following an altercation.
According to reports, the suspect fled the scene prompting a BOLO alert by the law enforcement agency. According to Mayor Joseph Polisena Jr, the suspect fled the scene in a dark blue Buick Encore RI Reg 1 AM-123. He was reportedly shot and killed by responding Cranston Police Officers after he refused orders to drop his weapon. According to reports, James Harrison fled the scene and towards the bridge in the area of Plainfield Street/Simmonsville Avenue. He was located by the assisting police department. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the victims involved is not known at this time. Law enforcement agencies investigating this incident have not released further details at this time. The deadly shooting is alleged to be domestic incident related. UPDATE: Harrison allegedly shot and killed his mother and a neighbor. He also shot the neighbor’s 15-year-old child. The teenager was transported to an area hospital for treatments. The names of the victims remains unknown at this time.
