Dylan Moran Death – Elmhurst University student and Cross Country running Athlete Dylan Moran of Addison has sadly passed away. He died leaving family, friends and his entire school in shock and disbelief. He was announced dead on Thursday 31st August 2023 through a publication made by the school that says “Dear students and colleagues, It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that one of our students, Dylan Moran, passed away earlier today at his home in Addison. We offer our deepest condolences to Dylan’s family and friends, and mourn the loss of such a young and promising life”.

He attended Addison Trail High School and was a four-year varsity letter winner in cross country and three-year varsity letter winner in track and field. He broke new school records in the two-mile (9:54) and one-mile (4:45) distances, and he qualified for sectionals three times and for the state meet as a junior.
On November 13, 2021, he ran a personal best 8K time of 26:02.0 to take 60th in the NCAA Division III Midwest Region Cross Country Championships was the Bluejays’ top performer at CCIWs, coming in at No. 30 in a time of 26:40.3. In 2021, he participated in six meets and placed in the top seven for the Bluejays. It’s safe to say that Dylan Moran’s extraordinary persistence as a person was what ultimately drove him to his phenomenal success as a cross country runner.

His work ethic was legendary, and he always approached his training with an unwavering dedication and a strong motivation to improve. He participated in six meets with the Bluejays while in high school. On October 15, 2022, he ran a season-best 8K time of 26:02.2 to take 143rd in the Augustana Interregional Invitational. Undoubtedly one of the most endearing aspects of Dylan Moran’s personality was his unwavering modesty.
Despite his many successes, Moran doesn’t seem to feel much better about himself. Moran’s success on the cross country track was a reflection of his hard work and talent, but his unflappably humble demeanor also helped endear him to his colleagues and the people that backed him.
