Her own ‘well-trained’ K9 personal protection dog killed her
A woman was attacked and killed by her own “well-trained” dog, which was shot by Sheriff’s deputies while it guarded her body. After many witnesses contacted 911 to report someone being attacked by a Dutch Shepherd, deputies were dispatched to Tellico Village, Tennessee, roughly 50 minutes southwest of Knoxville.
According to independent.co.uk, a Loudon County Sheriff’s Office statement, they arrived to find a large black dog guarding her body at about 7 p.m. local time on Wednesday. “Deputies were unable to approach the victim owing to the dog’s imminent attack,” according to the statement. “An LCSO deputy was forced to shoot and kill the animal.”
A Tellico Village woman was recognized as the victim, and she was pronounced dead at the spot. The woman, whose identity has been withheld until her family has been fully contacted, was the animal’s owner, according to a statement released by the sheriff’s office to The Independent.
According to the statement, “the dog was a Dutch Shepard and was allegedly a very well trained personal protection dog owned by the victim and her husband, who is a long-time and very experienced K9 trainer.”
