According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, a significant car accident that occurred on westbound Interstate 90 on Monday afternoon resulted in a woman being sent to the hospital.
The driver, a 67-year-old woman, was reportedly operating a Jeep Cherokee in the southbound lanes of Route 390 when she veered off the roadway, collided with a guardrail, and rolled over the grassy median before coming to a stop in the westbound lanes of Route 90. According to the deputies, she was travelling southbound on Route 390.
The single person in the vehicle, the driver, had to be extricated from the wreckage and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries that were considered to be life-threatening. The mishap did not result in any other people being hurt, nor did it cause any other property to be damaged. Regarding the accident, there has been no additional information provided to the public.
