He attended the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia, to receive his doctor of medical science degree. At the University of Virginia Health System, Dr. Isbell was able to successfully finish his fellowship in the field of cardiovascular disease. His training in internal medicine took place at the Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, during his residency.
His death was confirmed in a post made on Facebook by Siobhan Milan, the poste reads “my husband Tony Milan lost one of his best friends/brothers since he was 4 years old today. Our hearts are crushed and we are so upset. David C Isbell you will be missed so much. My heart breaks for my husband, David’s parents and family and David’s children. David is now in heaven dancing with his daughter. Please keep them all in your prayers.”
The American Board of Internal Medicine has awarded Dr. Isbell the distinction of board certification in the specialty of cardiovascular disease. Dr. Isbell has a wealth of experience in Adult Congenital Heart Conditions, Congenital Cardiac Conditions, and Heart Conditions in Children.
His very good friend in a tribute stated that “I lost my little brother today. I knew David Isbell since we were 4 & 5 years old. 47 years for those who are counting, and he was one of the two people I loved enough to have as a brother. The hole he will leave in my life, heart, and world is the largest one I have ever experienced. While I know we will continue forward in life, it hurts to know it will not include him. My heart breaks for my 2nd parents, Jerry & Brenda. My prayers are also for Connor, Harrison, Grant, Deirdra, Ann, MK & the rest of Clan Isbell. I am here for any and all of you.”
In 1999, he received his degree from the Main Campus of the University of Virginia. Both the Lake City Community Hospital and the Prisma Health Richland Hospital are his professional affiliations in the medical field.
