Doug Gagnon Obituary, Goshen MA, Community mourns: Douglas John Gagnon, 61, of Goshen died suddenly while doing what he loved most: logging. Doug is preceded by his parents, Joseph and Elinor (Kellogg) Gagnon of Goshen. Doug’s parents instilled in him a strong work ethic and dedication from an early age.
He spent much of his youth working on the Goshen Town farm, looking to the poultry and riding snowmobiles with friends and relatives. He graduated from Hampshire Regional High School with the class of 1981. Following graduation, he founded Gagnon Brothers Logging, which he co-owned with his brother Jeff. If you knew Doug, you knew him as a determined, hardworking, and caring individual.
Doug was the first person you would call if you needed something or an extra hand. He was the type of person that doesn’t come around very often, the kind of guy who would put everything on hold to serve others. If you ever needed to know the weather, he was the person to call. He could also tell you what the weather was like on any date in history. For many years, he served as our bookkeeper.
Doug is survived by his siblings Joseph, Daniel (Juliet), Jeffrey, Cheryl (William Miller), and Michelle (Dan Zima), his nieces Heather, Rebecca (Scott), Vanessa (Jay), Annette (Tim), Laila (Justin), Ashley (Cory), and Alexis (Tim), and of course his great nieces and nephews Caleb, Aidan, Kiley, Keegan, Althea, Rhett, Eleanora, and Reid. Doug will be sorely missed by everyone.
