Donna Mcgraw Madsen Obituary, Death : It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend Donna Jo McGraw Madsen.
Donna was born Feb 28, 1947 in Oklahoma, and passed Feb 27, 2022 in Highland VIllage, Texas, one day short of her 75th birthday. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Joseph and Geraldine McGraw, and her sister Deana, as well as her beloved sons Anthony Lee and William Scott Jr, who had gained their wings in recent years.
She graduated from John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City, OK in 1965. Donna then went on to Oklahoma University in Norman and continued her education at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. Donna enjoyed her time as an LVN, which was her passion for years to follow.
Donna was a kind, giving, fiercely loving person. She could find joy in the smallest of things, such as a comical garden gnome, just to aggravate her granddaughter. She continuously fought for her family, both natural and added on, and she never wavered in her belief of doing everything possible to assist, support, and be a cheerleader for her children first, and then ultimately her grandchildren.
She liked to share her sense of humor, her joy for all things in life, and ultimately, her thoughts on whatever topic came up. And she was not ever hesitant to be honest and real with someone if necessary, even in difficult situations, but she always paired that with unconditional love and affection.
Donna leaves behind her husband of 46 years, William Scott Madsen Sr, her daughter Melissa Mullin and her husband Jason Mullin and grandsons Landry Mullin, Lukas Mullin, Schyler Sestak and his wife Crystal; her daughter-in-law Joei Madsen and granddaughters Harley Madsen and Hailey Madsen; and daughter-in-law Melissa Landrum and grandsons, Hayden and Cole Scott; her brother Dr. Phillip C. McGraw and wife Robin McGraw and their sons Jay and Jordan McGraw; her sister Brenda Watters and husband Doug Watters and their son Douglas.
A service to celebrate Donna’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at First United Methodist Church in Lewisville. Interment will follow at McCurley Cemetery in Lewisville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. A reception will immediately follow the graveside at 448 Kelda Lane in Highland Village.
