Donal Courtney Cause Of Death, Obituary Not Yet Available – Following the terrible and tragic news that the extremely brilliant and, more importantly, well-loved actor, Donal Courtney, passed away, tributes have been paid from all over the county.
According to independent.ie, Donal, who had gained national and international acclaim for his outstanding performance in the one-man show ‘God Has No Country,’ which portrayed the story of Monsignor Hugh O’Flaherty’s wartime adventures in Rome during World War II and was written by Donal himself.
Donal was an experienced actor, recognized writer, and creative director who had only just begun work on the ‘West End House – School of Arts’, which he had formed with Fassbender, and was widely credited as the acting teacher who ‘discovered’ the acting talents of the young Michael Fassbender.
On Monday, Killarney Mayor Marie Moloney paid tribute to Donal, describing him as a “wonderfully brilliant actor and theatre coach, as well as a very proud and accomplished Killarney man.”
On Sunday, the Hugh O’Flaherty Memorial Society paid tribute to Donal, saying that they were devastated to learn of his premature death.
“We learned yesterday of our beloved friend Donie Courtney, renowned drama coach, playwright, producer, director, and performer, with tremendous shock and sadness,” they stated in a statement after the news came.
“Donie was a true friend of the Memorial Society, utilizing his wonderful creative talent to assist us disseminate awareness in a most unique way, and we will miss him greatly.” We send our heartfelt condolences to his wife Adeline and their two young children, as well as his siblings and the rest of the Courtney family. “A brilliant dramatist has passed away, but his legacy lives on,” they added.
