Doey Choi obituary : Australian Golfer Passed Away In Motorcycle Accident In Sydney: We are extremely saddened by the untimely loss of Doey Choi on behalf of the Board of Golf NSW, Jack Newton Junior Golf, and the staff of both organizations. For everyone who knew Doey, including those outside the golf scene, her sudden passing is a great loss.
Doey was not just a fantastic playermany of us considered her a dear friend. Her contagious smile, amiable demeanor, and sincere compassion for her peers will be deeply missed. Doey played our wonderful game with grace, tenacity, and enthusiasm. Her amateur career was flawless; at the age of 13, she won the national amateur championship of New Zealand in addition to the NSW Amateur title. At the interstate level, she proudly represented New South Wales.
Doey won the highest accolade in amateur golf in Australia in 2019 when she was selected to represent her nation in the Queen Sirikit Cup & Asia Pacific Ladies Amateur. Doey will be remembered for her generosity, the happiness she offered to a vast number of us, and her support of golf in our wonderful state.
As her family, friends, and loved ones struggle to cope with this unfathomable tragedy, our thoughts are with them. Words can never adequately capture how deeply sad .
