Auston Smith Reudelhuber Death – 32-year-old Deputy Sheriff II Auston Smith Reudelhuber tragically passed away in a deadly crash Saturday morning. Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the Deputy who they say died in the accident involving a box truck. The deputy was on patrol at approximately 5:16 A.M., in the 5200 block of N NC Hwy 150 in Davidson County. FCSO says the young officer was struck by the box truck, he was located by the responding department and transported to the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Deputy Sheriff II Auston Smith Reudelhuber, 32 years old, joined the FCSO Family on March 29, 2021. Deputy Reudelhuber was assigned to the Field Services Division and was a Field Training Officer. Before his service with us, Deputy Reudelhuber was employed by the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office for over three (3) years and served his country in the United States Marine Corps for six (6) years active duty and was serving as a reserve. “It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of one of our own.

The collision occurred on Monday in Macon Township, located in Lenawee County, approximately 60 miles (95 kilometers) southwest of Detroit.
