Delonte Hicks, 29, Truck Driver Shot And killed In A Road Rage Shooting

In a suspected case of road rage, Maryland State Police are hunting for the person who shot and murdered a tow truck driver. Delonte Hicks, 29, of Washington, D.C., was shot and died near Veterans Parkway in Landover on Saturday at 5:45 p.m., according to police.

While traveling down Route 50, Hicks and another driver got into an argument. The mystery motorist then pulled out a handgun and fired a shot into Hicks’ vehicle, hitting him, according to authorities.

The gunman is said to have fled east on Route 50. The suspect was believed to be driving a dark-colored vehicle, according to police.

Hicks was taken to the University of Maryland Capital Regional Medical Center by ambulance, where he was declared dead, according to police. Hicks and the gunman did not know each other before the altercation, according to detectives.
