A longtime aide to Urban Meyer, who worked for him throughout his tenure at Ohio State, has recently died away. On Saturday, Brian Kight made the announcement that his father, Tim Kight, a longtime assistant coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes, had died away peacefully in his sleep the previous night.
Yesterday evening, my father, Tim Kight, passed away while he was sleeping comfortably. To a great number of people, including a great number of you, he was so many things. You were able to sense him regardless of whether or not you were able to meet him. That was the type of presence he possessed. To me, however, he was nothing more than my father. And that was the very last thing. “Dad, I want you to know that I love you.”
Having competed in track and field at both Ohio State and UCLA, Kight had spent the most of his career as a motivational speaker. Meyer wanted to retain him on staff as a leadership consultant throughout his time as a coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes because his message was so strong.
It is quite clear that Meyer benefited from Kight’s statements. Meyer led the Buckeyes to an 83-9 record throughout the course of his seven years with the team, during which time they won three Big Ten crowns, a national championship, and finished in the top 10 six times.
In response to the post that Brian Kight made, a great number of individuals have shown their sympathies to the family by leaving comments:
Please know that my heart is breaking for you and your family, Brian. Throughout the crisis, your father maintained a remarkable level of composure and led from the heart and via his words. Both his legacy and his energy are limitless and will end indefinitely. My deepest sympathy,” said one user.
“This one is painful. Although I only knew TK for a couple of years, the knowledge and assistance that he provided will remain with me for the rest of my life. I intend to put those things to use and take them with me into the future. If it’s football, family, or business, it doesn’t matter. A lot of love, TK! One more person wrote, “Legend!”
It is my hope that you and your family are receiving prayers, Brian. Throughout his career, your father had a significant effect on a great number of people’s lives; nevertheless, the most significant of these was the impact he had on you and your family. RIP Mr. Tim Kight – “Strong Faith, Special Man – a life well lived,” Kevin Wilson, the head coach of the Tulsa Tulsa football team, said. Sincere condolences are extended to the Kight family.
Tim Kight’s Obituary will be released by his family.
