Death; Thomas Kalista Obituary, Beloved Resident of New Britain, CT Has passed Away: Hannah Fish’s loving husband, Thomas J. Kalista, 34, of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. William and Kathy (Morrison) Kalista welcomed him into the world in New Britain, Connecticut. Tom was a clinical assistant professor of pharmacy practice at the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy, where he received his undergraduate degree.
The following people survive Tom: his wife Hannah; parents William and Kathy; siblings, Ryan Kalista and Nathan; sister, Hailey Champagne; nephew, Luke; and a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and second cousins. Tom used to watch all of the Buffalo Bills and Chelsea FC games. Tom developed a strong enthusiasm for the Washington Nationals and the Washington Capitals while he was a resident of Virginia, but he never ceased supporting his favorite Yankees. Being a first-season ticket holder at RIFC thrilled him. Tom intended to play in the local Golf Fights Cancer event.
He loved golf so much that he played 100 rounds of it with his loved ones. Tom brightened everyone’s day, made every space he walked into seem cozy, and made everyone smile. He was a loving father to his Omani pet, Soto, and a faithful husband, son, brother, and uncle. Every part of his life was infused with his passion of music. Even though he was a superb and compassionate pharmacist and teacher, what really mattered to him were his loved ones.
There will be a viewing on Tuesday, May 14th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, CT. The funeral liturgy will take place at St. Bridget of Kildare Church in Moodus, Connecticut on Wednesday, May 15th at 11 a.m. You can donate to a local dog shelter or rescue in Tom’s honor using a variety of methods, including the Tom’s Golf Fights Cancer page and another number of local ones.
