Death: Robert Gory Orland Park Found Dead – Obituary not available: The man was identified as Robert J. Gory by the Will County coroner on Monday, a day after police were dispatched to the Pheasant Hill community in Homer Glen after receiving news that the man’s body had been discovered in a retention pond around 5 p.m.
According to patch.com, The body of a 41-year-old Orland Park man was discovered in a Homer Glen pond on Sunday evening, according to the Will County Sheriff’s Department. He had been missing since the middle of last week.
Gory’s body was discovered by a man fishing at the pond who observed the body approximately 10 feet from the shore, according to authorities. The body was pulled from the water by Homer Glen Northwest Fire, and the Will County Coroner’s Office arrived at 7:10 p.m. to proclaim the time of death.
After collecting the man’s driver’s license from his pocket, officers were able to identify him. The sheriff’s office said Monday that investigators scoured the pond area for any suspicious evidence but found nothing.
On Friday, a sheriff’s deputy informed other investigators that he took a missing person’s report on Gory. According to authorities, he stated that the man’s mother had reported her son missing and that the man matched the mother’s description.
