Robert Carey Jr Cause Of Death, Obituary Unavailable Yet – Sheriff’s dispatch got a call on the evening of Saturday, April 30, 2022, stating that Robert Carey Jr., a 33-year-old Calimesa resident, had not returned from a climb up to San Gorgonio Peak. Carey was a seasoned hiker but had never attempted the peak, according to his family. Soon after, dispatchers received several calls from witnesses in the Forest Falls area reporting an unknown subject yelling for aid.
According to newsmirror.net, A search was conducted in Forest Falls by members of the San Bernardino County Fire Department and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. An unresponsive male person was discovered near the base of the Big Falls Waterfall by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Aviation aircraft, which was dispatched to the location.
Carey was later positively identified as the subject. A helicopter crew member was carried down to the base of the falls during the hours of darkness to provide Carey with air. Regrettably, rescuers discovered Carey had died as a result of his injuries. Carey fell around 80 feet, according to investigators.
The recovery operation was postponed until daylight hours due to the risk and intricacy of the situation. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s San Gorgonio Search and Rescue Team members were carried down by helicopter on Sunday, May 1 and successfully found Carey’s remains. Carey was positively recognized by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Division.
