Death: A man from Gloversville was killed in a car accident in Amsterdam on Tuesday – According to state police, a Gloversville man was killed in a late-Tuesday afternoon collision with a tractor-trailer on Route 5 in the town of Amsterdam. James E. Green, 54, of Gloversville, was identified as the man murdered by troopers.
According to news.yahoo.com, On Tuesday at 4:27 p.m., an accident occurred on Route 5 near Quist Road. Green was driving westbound on Route 5 in a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt when he crossed the median and began driving west in the eastbound lane, according to the preliminary investigation.
State police said Green then crashed head-on with an eastbound tractor-trailer driven by Robert J. Gisondi, 56, of Gloversville. Green was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to state police. Gisondi was unharmed.
