Death; Michael Failace Obituary, passed away At 58: On Thursday, May 9, 2024, Lieutenant Michael Failace (Ret), 58, of Lyndhurst, New Jersey, passed away. cherished father of Jessica Failace and Michael Failace Jr.; cherished son of Frank and the late Kathryn Failace. Frank Jr. and Lisa Failace, our brothers, kindly accept our sincere regards. Family members and devoted friends will miss having Michael around. Mike received recognition for his unwavering dedication, ceaseless efforts, and altruistic assistance despite extreme hardship. Mike started off in law enforcement as a member of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office.
Mike was proud of his choice to enlist in the Lyndhurst Police Department, where he soon established himself as a crucial component of the unit’s approach to preventing crime. He was an important member of the emergency response section of the Lyndhurst Police Department. Through the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute, he was able to influence the lives of other aspiring law enforcement officers by virtue of his unwavering commitment to his job.
Mike continued to stay active in the industry even after he left law enforcement by co-hosting the adored podcast The Suffering Podcast with his closest friend Kevin Donaldson. These initiatives brought attention to the critical need for improved mental health services for law enforcement personnel who serve the community.
Mike threw himself into promoting the Special Olympics. One of his favorite memories from his long career with the Special Olympics was carrying the Flame of Hope into the Law Enforcement Torch Run opening ceremonies in Seattle, Washington.
Mike’s priorities in life were sports, his social circle, and his loved ones. He was admitted to Seton Hall Preparatory High School on the basis of his football prowess, where he also acquired the moral principles that would ultimately shape his career. Mike continued to coach football for Pony Pirates as a volunteer.
Mike was a well-known comic and storyteller who could add excitement to any event. Mike made a great deal of sacrifices as evidence of his unwavering love, fortitude, and integrity.
He had a significant impact on people’s lives. We have priceless memories of Mike that serve as a constant reminder of how fleeting life is. Those who had the good fortune to know him will be deeply saddened by his loss. The Ippolito-Stellato service Home, located at 425 Ridge Road in Lyndhurst, will host the service on Wednesday at 10:00 AM. The burial ceremony and visitation will start at Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Friends are welcome on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Donations can be sent to Seton Hall Prep Athletics at this website or Special Olympics New Jersey at 1 Eunice Kennedy Shriver Way, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
