Matt Rogers death – Obituary yet to be released. Matt Rogers has died after a courageously fighting a long battle with cancer. The USD 380 Vermillion Schools community is mourning the death of their Superintendent, Roger.
On Wednesday, March 16, Frankfort School shared a post from Rogers’ wife, informing the community of Rogers’ passing.
According to the family’s post, Rogers passed away Wednesday morning.
“He was surrounded by family and went to sleep peacefully holding my hand,” his wife Cary wrote. “He is finally free from this beast of cancer. Forever in my heart; never to be forgotten.”
Rogers was a frequent contributor of photos and videos of the district’s students to a fan segment that was previously part of WIBW-Kansas TV’s Prep Zone segment. He told 13 NEWS that he wanted students from his small towns to be recognized.
On its Facebook page Wednesday, USD 380 wrote,
“Our district surrounds the Rogers family with love today, and everyday. You all have made a tremendous impact on our communities, and this great man will be truly missed. All our love and support.”
The USD 380 district, including its schools in Frankfort and Centralia, as well as the Vermillion Pre-K building, held a “Rally for the Rogers” day in late February to show support for the family.
