Death: Juduth Maydwell, 80, grandmother found beaten to death in Cypress area – After confessing to killing his grandmother at her house in the Cypress area on Saturday, a man will be charged with capital murder, according to investigators. Deputies were summoned to the 16100 block of Golden Sands Drive, near the intersection of West and Telge roads, to conduct a welfare check after family members reported finding their 80-year-old grandma dead in her house, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
According to khou.com, Authorities claimed they arrived to find a smashed sliding glass door and Juduth Maydwell dead on the living room floor. She appears to have sustained a number of injuries from blunt force trauma.
When investigators began speaking with the victim’s family, they discovered that Chad Maydwell, the victim’s 30-year-old grandson, was wanted by the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office in connection with his father’s violent assault on March 7.
It’s also not Chad’s first assault charge, according to documents. In 2021, he was also found guilty of assault on a family member for an incident that occurred in 2018. On Friday, neighbors said they saw Chad’s car near Juduth’s house.
