Death: 2 people killed in a car accident on Cohoe Loop Road in Kasilof – When officers arrived, they discovered Matthew Smith driving a blue 2000 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on Cohoe Loop Road. Hannah Hill was traveling west on Cohoe Loop Road in a silver 2018 Ford Focus.
A motorist contacted 911 at 7:44 p.m. on Sunday evening to report a two-vehicle head-on collision on Cohoe Loop Road near mile post 12 in Kasilof, according to Alaska State Troopers. The following collision caused the road to be closed in both directions for several hours.
According to the online trooper dispatch, the investigation indicated that Hill was going at a fast rate of speed and had violated the double yellow center line. Hill’s car crossed into Smith’s lane, resulting in a head-on accident. Jenwar Towing towed both automobiles after they sustained debilitating damage.
As reported by adiokenai.com, Smith was sent to CPH for treatment of injuries that were not life threatening. Hill, as well as her passenger Jessica Neff, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both Hill and Neff’s relatives have been alerted.
At this moment, an investigation is underway. North Cohoe Loop near Kasilof was open in both ways at mile 12 at 6:36 a.m. on Monday, March 28th, according to Alaska State Troopers.
