Death; Jeffrey Orr, 58 & Bradley Messer, 22 Has passed Away one injured in Barrow County shooting: In the wake of a possible murder-suicide that happened late on Friday night, the Barrow County sheriff has asked his community to pray for a family. Two people lost their lives and one person was injured as a result of the tragedy. Sheriff Jud Smith described the event as “just a tragic situation all around” in an interview with FOX 5 Atlanta. “Just trying to get to the bottom of the situation as quickly as we can.”
Sheriff Smith stated that a victim had made it out of the gunshot and that person had called 911 to a house off of Highway 82. Upon arrival, the deputies discovered the remains of two individuals: Jeffrey Orr, 58 years old, and Bradley Messer, 22 years old. Speaking with FOX 5 Atlanta, Smith claimed that one of the dead victims seemed to have been shot, while the other appeared to have self-inflicted wounds at the time of death.
After a while, the sheriff’s office declared that they had concluded that Messer had shot the unnamed victim in the arm, killed Orr, and then turned the gun on himself. Smith told FOX 5 that although the investigation is still underway, the neighborhood was not at risk because it appeared that the incident was limited to a single property.
Smith said in his statement, “Pray for the family and that they have some closure and understanding for this later on.”
