Jamie Monte Gibson Cause Of Death, Obituary Unavailable Yet – A kid was shot and died on an Interstate 459 off-ramp near Birmingham on Wednesday evening, prompting an investigation. South Precinct officers were summoned to the intersection of Overtone Road and Liberty Parkway soon after 6 p.m., according to Birmingham police Public Information Officer Truman Fitzgerald.
According to wvtm13.com, Vesta via Hills officers met Birmingham officers at the scene and advised them of a shooting victim. Before shots were fired, witnesses saw an SUV get off I-459 at the north off-ramp, according to Fitzgerald. After then, the victim was observed exiting his vehicle before collapsing into the street from gunshot wounds.
The victim was brought to Grandview Medical Center by Vestavia Hills Fire and Rescue, where he was pronounced dead. Jamie Monte Gibson, 16, of Center Point, has been confirmed as the victim. Because the shooting occurred in their jurisdiction, Birmingham police have taken over the investigation.
