Jake Tipka Obituary, Death – Jacob “Jake” Alexander Tipka, of Minneapolis (formerly Lakeville) passed away unexpectedly April 4th, 2022 at the age of 25. Jake graduated from Lakeville South in 2014 with a 4.1 GPA. He went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota in 2018 with a degree in Construction Management. Most recently, Jake worked as an Estimator for Lennar Homes and thoroughly loved his job. From a young age, Jake was a trick skier, teaching himself how to backflip while skiing at Buck Hill.
He enjoyed skiing so much that he even made his own year-round ski jump in his backyard. Jake was a diehard football fan, regardless of the teams; he had a true love of the game. Jake’s real passion in life was hunting and fishing. He spent countless hours fishing with his father, who was his favorite fishing buddy. One of his true joys in life was taking people hunting and fishing and helping them to enjoy the outdoors almost as much as he did. Jake was blessed to be born only 51 weeks apart from his big brother, Josh.
The two of them were heading to Alaska in a month for a once-in-a-lifetime grizzly hunt. A fond family memory was when Jake was young, he and his younger sister, Anna would have his GI Joes take on her Barbies in epic battles. The greatest gift Anna gave Jake was her fiancé, Alec. Alec and Jake had become very good friends. Another enjoyment of Jake’s was eating his mom’s home-cooked meals that she prepared every night.
Bacon cheeseburger soup was his most requested meal. One of the highlights of Jake’s life was a trip to France for the wedding of a childhood friend. Preceded in death by Grandparents Arnold and Rona Tipka, Brian DuFresne and Judy Hawley, Uncle Brian Tipka, and also his beloved dog Jazz.
Jake is survived by Parents Barry and Denise Tipka, Siblings Josh Tipka and Anna Tipka (fiancé Alec Crane), Grandmother Cathy DuFresne, Aunts and Uncles Garmon and Anne Tipka, and Steve and Jenny Dehmer.
