He went missing shortly after midnight after failing to return from a trip to Devil’s Armchair, near the Milford Track’s northern end.
According to the ODT, Ultimate Hikes general manager Noel Saxon said in a statement that the man worked as a lodge attendant at Mitre Peak Lodge. The death of one of the company’s employees left the company “very devastated.”
