Death: ENO Mentor Harrison Birtwistle Has Died, What Happened? Harrison Birtwistle has sadly passed away according to a Facebook post by English National Opera on April 19, 2022. The cause of death has not been made known to the public. Harry was a much-loved collaborator and mentor whose work has inspired generations of musicians.
English National Opera wrote; “Everyone at the ENO is heartbroken to learn of the death of Sir Harrison Birtwistle. His musical influence was unparalleled and we were proud to recently collaborate with him on The Mask of Orpheus. We send our love and condolences to all of his family, friends and colleagues.”
