Dirk Miller Cause Of Death, Obituary Unavailable Yet – According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, a tragic multi-vehicle incident occurred in the 5800 block of North Illinois Route 2 shortly after 1 p.m. on Monday, April 25.
According to early findings, a southbound vehicle driven by Dirk Miller, 55, of Mt Morris jumped the center line and entered the northbound lane, colliding with two oncoming vehicles. Byron EMS brought Miller to Swedish American Hospital, where he was declared dead.
As reported by Ogle County Life, Teresa Gabriel, 58, of Dixon, was behind the wheel of the second vehicle, a 15-passenger school bus. Mt Morris EMS brought Gabriel to KSB Hospital with minor injuries. Connie Sloter, 34, of Dixon, a school bus passenger, was transferred to Swedish American Hospital by Byron EMS for minor injuries. The school bus passenger who was not hurt was released to a family member.
Kiara Franklin, 22, of Rockford, was the driver of the third vehicle and was taken to Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Stillman Valley EMS transported two adolescent passengers to Mercy Hospital for observation, who were also in the third car.
Deputies were aided at the site by Byron Fire/EMS, Byron Police, Oregon EMS, Stillman Valley EMS, Mt. Morris EMS, and the Illinois Department of Transportation. The accident is still being investigated.
