David Streeten Death – Allen High School Lacrosse Varsity Offensive Coordinator and Head Junior Varsity Coach David Streeten of Corning, New York has sadly passed away. He died on Monday 3rd April 2023 leaving his entire student heartbroken. He was announced dead by the Allen Eagle Lacrosse on Tuesday saying “It is with great sadness that the Allen High School Lacrosse family announces the passing of our Junior Varsity Head Coach & Varsity Assistant Coach David Streeten, who passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023”.
What happened to David Streeten?
Details surrounding the exact cause of his death has not been revealed. Corning, New York was David’s home throughout his childhood. It was only natural for David to flourish in the sport considering that his father is regarded as one of the most iconic high school coaches in history. New York’s Corning East High School honored David for his play as a face-off specialist and as a midfielder during his time there. His overall face-off winning percentage in high school was greater than 72 percent.
David came to Allen in the 2015/2016 season to take over as the offensive coordinator for the varsity team as well as the head coach of the JV team. Also, he was particularly committed in coaching the programs for younger athletes. He initiated and oversaw the summer box lacrosse program for all levels of the club, as well as opening it up to clubs in the surrounding area and teaching a great number of private lessons.
David Streeten Career
David was chosen to play in the Super Senior Game, as well as the All-Tournament Team and the All-Conference First Team. He was also a member of the All-Conference First Team. He was awarded the Most Valuable Player award for his offense on his squad. As a member of the Western Empire Team, Streeten competed in the Empire State Games of New York in 2002 and was awarded a silver medal for his efforts. David was a face-off specialist for Division I Binghamton University hockey team until he suffered a career-ending injury that forced him to leave the team.
David worked as a volunteer assistant for the last three years of his undergraduate education, culminating in his graduation from Binghamton University in May 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in English and a concentration in creative writing. He was awarded this degree in English with a concentration in creative writing. After completing his education, David began his career in the field of coaching by first working as a substitute teacher and then as a freelance sports journalist for the publications Inside Lacrosse Magazine and Lacrosse Magazine.
