David Richardson Cause Of Death, Obituary Not Yet Available – The death of Deputy Director David Richardson has been announced by the Bensalem Township Police Department, Director William McVey, and Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo.
According to crimewatchpa.com, He fought pancreatic cancer with unwavering courage and humility for the past year, but he has ultimately succumbed to this terrible disease. Deputy Director Richardson spent the previous 24 years as a police officer in Bensalem Township. He began his career as a patrol officer and spent 13 years with his two K9 partners, Czar and Prince, in the K9 unit.
Before being promoted to Lieutenant, he was promoted to Sergeant and served as the supervisor for the K9 unit, Patrol Division, and Criminal Investigations Division. He was the commander of the Criminal Investigations Division and the K9 team as a Lieutenant. He achieved a long-held career ambition of becoming the Deputy Director of Public Safety on January 21st of this year.
Deputy Director Richardson holds a bachelor’s degree from Lock Haven University, a master’s degree from Oklahoma University, and has completed the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. The Bensalem Township Police Department is devastated, and Dave’s family is in our thoughts and prayers.
A leader, an advocate, and a friend has been lost to the entire community. Dave’s wife Johanna and kids Ella and Bailey survive him. Dave’s fortitude and devotion to his family, friends, and the police department will be remembered forever.
