It’s with great sadness that I pass along the news that the former Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario, the Honourable David Onley has died at age 72. Stricken with polio at 3, he fought back then as he did his whole life – against disability, against ableism, against so many obstacles. He was a lovely, funny human being both in person and an acquaintance and former co-worker at CKO, and on the job, with a great sense of honour. He will be remembered for so much more than his honorific or the vast recognition bestowed upon him in public life (including years in radio and of course, City TV). Our deepest condolences to his lovely wife Ruth Ann and their sons. Read more about His Honour’s life here.
