According to the reports, Dave Stewart and Steven Tourangeau passed away after a fatal collision that happened on Monday, May 29th, 2023. Just before 7 a.m. on Monday, tragedy struck when Stewart’s school bus and Tourangeau’s unmarked police car collided at the dreaded crossroads of Oxford Road 33 and Highway 59 in this little rural village northwest of Woodstock. According to authorities, both men, who were the only people in their cars, passed away there.
About Dave Stewart
71-year-old David James Stewart was a beloved and well-known school bus driver born on April 15, 1952. He was the best friend and beloved husband of Wendy Stewart for 47 years. Loving father of Elizabeth Anderson, Heather Stewart, Patricia Blyde, and Melissa Roloson. Proud Grandpa and Papa of 7 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters.
Before his retirement, David owned Connor Lawn and Marine. He was a motorbike and small engine mechanic by trade. Following his retirement, David worked as a school bus driver for 12 years. He enjoyed fishing, the NFL, and NASCAR, but his family was his top priority. Dave drove buses for Elgie Bus Lines and did bus routes for both West Nissouri Public School and Lord Dorchester Secondary School. He was cherished, and his absence will be felt deeply. Doug Stewart, Graham Stewart, and Lyn Hancock all adored their brother David.

Steven was 35 years of age at the time of his death. Steven Tourangeau was an Ontario Provincial Police constable and a resident of Thorndale in Perth County.

Friends will be received at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, on Monday, June 5 from 6-8 pm, and Tuesday, June 6 from 10 am until 11 am, when a service will be held in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at the Woodstock Anglican Cemetery. F
