Dave Lea Death – Legendary Stunt Performer and Martial Arts Legend Dave Lea sadly and unexpectedly passed away on Saturday 6th August 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 65. He worked in the entertainment industry as a trainer, stunt coordinator/action choreographer, and fight coordinator. He is widely regarded as one of the most successful British performers to have ever made a name for themselves in the field of stunt acting in Hollywood.

Who was Dave Lea?

Dave has worked with and educated a large number of famous actors and actresses, including Sylvester Stallone, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Colin Farrell, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sandra Bullock, Scarlett Johansson, Eric Mabius, and Ewan McGregor, among others. Dave is best known for playing Batman’s stunt fight double in the first two Batman movies, both of which starred Michael Keaton. He was born in London. Dave, who has a residence in Los Angeles, divides his time between Hollywood and the United Kingdom at the present time.

Dave Lea was an expert in a variety of martial arts, including Wing Chun Kung–fu, Eskrima, and Shaolin fighting, amongst others. After beginning his martial arts training in London at a young age, first in Shotokan karate and later in Wing Chun in London’s Chinatown, Dave went on to further hone his abilities by studying under some of the country’s most renowned instructors in Malaysia.

Dave Lea became the first white guy, to represent their Hapkune–Do school in London after learning the Five Animals form of martial arts, improving his Wing Chun power, and learning firearms. Before beginning a career in television and cinema, Dave opened and operated three successful martial arts schools in London, where he instructed his students in kung fu, kickboxing, and weapons.

Dave Lea was larger than life. Dave started training in martial arts in his early teens. He traveled the world learning from some of the most outstanding martial art teachers he could find, including Dan Inosanto, who trained under Bruce Lee, and Joseph Cheng of Wing Chun fame. Also studied with Grand Master Leong Swee Lun of Shaolin.

Dave Lea’s GoFundMe

On Wednesday, the 10th of August 2022, Angel Lea set up a GoFundMe account in order to provide financial support to the grieving family at this difficult time. The goal of the account was to raise the amount of $5,000, but as of the time this report was written, the amount of $2,506 had been raised via the generosity of 17 donors.

Dave Lea’s obituary has not been released by the family
