When the police arrived, they discovered a vehicle that had been severely damaged in a field to the east of the 19th Line. At the site, law enforcement officers, emergency medical technicians, and firefighters provided assistance. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stated in a press release that the sole occupant of the car, an 18-year-old driver, was declared dead at the site of the collision.

During the time that the OPP Technical Collision Investigators were conducting their investigation, the road that ran between the 25th Line and the 27th Line was blocked, and pedestrians were advised to follow the road closure sign and stay away from the area. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had reopened the route as of the early afternoon on Thursday.

At this point, neither the reason for the crash nor the identify of the person who was killed are known. The OPP is asking anyone who may have information to get in touch with them at 1-888-310-1122.
