Danny Agnew Death – Prominent Liberty City business owner and activist has died following a deadly eight-car accident that happened on Interstate 95 on Thursday morning. The victim has been identified as Danny Agnew. According to reports, Danny Agnew passed away from injuries sustained in the fatal crash. Around 2:10 a.m., a Tesla driver believed to be Agnew, crashed into a concrete barrier and came to a stop in the middle of the highway.
How did the crash happen?
Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alex Camacho stated that a Dodge sedan collided with the Tesla, causing the driver to be ejected. During this incident, the driver of a white Nissan slowed down to avoid hitting the Tesla driver but unfortunately was hit by a Chevrolet SUV. The impact caused the Nissan to propel forward and tragically run over the victim. Multiple minor crashes followed involving other vehicles such as a tow truck.
Who was Danny Agnew?
Notably, the late Agnew co-founded The Roots Collective, an organization that sells Black empowerment apparel and provides space for businesses through the Roots Black House. Since its inception, the group has prioritized amplifying Black ownership and building wealth with a social conscience.
Agnew championed the mission of staying firmly entrenched in communities of colour and worked with like-minded organizations to establish an activist enclave around Northwest 54th Street and 7th Ave. In an interview with Shoutout Miami, he described The Roots Collective as “an organization of ambitious visionaries dedicated to the economic growth, social awareness, and self-sufficiency of black and brown communities nationwide.”
