Seth Thomas Roberts, 21, of Canby, Oregon, was riding a motorcycle when he was involved in an accident on North Marine Drive on July 15. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His loved ones have been informed of his passing away at this time.
According to the findings of the preliminary inquiry, Roberts was operating a blue 2005 Suzuki SV650S motorbike while traveling eastward on North Marine Drive. The motorcyclist collided with the passenger side of a black 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee as the driver of the Jeep was attempting to turn southward onto Bybee Lake Road from westbound Marine Drive. It is thought that speed was a factor that contributed to the accident, and the passengers of both vehicles were affiliated with the organized street racing or takeover events that were taking place that evening.
The investigators suspect that there were additional witnesses to the collision that fled the site without speaking to cops, including riders of several other motorbikes that were present in the area at the time of the incident.
