Daniel Johnson Harrison was a member of the Royal Navy. The Royal Navy, also known simply as the RN, is the naval warfare force of the United Kingdom. Although early medieval English and Scottish kings made use of warships, the first major naval battles were fought during the Hundred Years’ War against France.

HMS Kent is a Type 23 Duke class frigate of the Royal Navy, and the twelfth ship to bear the name, although technically she is named after the dukedom rather than the county.
